FootMotion Manager Benn Selected for the Legendary Moab 240

FootMotion Manager Benn Journey to Moab 240

We’re thrilled to share that our Maitland manager, Benn, has been selected to compete in one of the world’s most gruelling ultramarathons — the legendary Moab 240.

Held annually in Utah, USA, the Moab 240 is a 383km (238 mile) single-stage footrace through desert, canyon and alpine terrain, with over 9,000 metres of elevation gain. It’s widely regarded as one of the most demanding and prestigious events on the global ultrarunning calendar, with only a limited number of athletes selected each year.

Benn is no stranger to epic endurance events. He recently claimed victory at the 240km Coast to Kosciuszko, one of Australia’s toughest ultramarathons, proving not only his physical resilience but also his sharp strategic mind. Moab, however, presents a new level of complexity and challenge — and Benn is already deep into his training.

Balancing full-time store leadership, a thriving coaching business (Stroke No Limits), and weekly FootMotion Maitland Run Club sessions, Benn continues to be a driving force in our local running community. His commitment to structured training, expert footwear knowledge and genuine support of runners of all levels make him an inspiring figure both in-store and on the trails.

As Benn prepares for Moab (October 10-15, 2025), his training includes back-to-back long runs, targeted strength blocks, mobility work and even sleep deprivation simulations to mimic the extreme conditions of the race.

We’ll be proudly following his journey over the coming months and sharing insights along the way. Stay tuned for updates as we support one of our own through this incredible adventure. And check out his podcast here!
