A rubberised foam wraps around the heel, along the inside edge and up under the forefoot to provide Hoka's maximum guidance and stability. With dramatic levels of cushioning typical of Hoka, the Gaviota 3 introduces greater levels of padding around the collar and tongue and has an upper with a much cleaner finish than the previous model.
Runners after a lighter stability shoe. Moderate pronators. Walkers. Those with joint issues within the foot.
What we like
Generous crash pad at the heel.
Padded tongue and collar make for a highly cushioned on foot feel.
The minimalist outsole has been extended to underneath the ball of the foot for those who found this to be a point of heavy wear in the previous edition.
